I had just finished
Documenting my worst fears
About my path-to-root technique
For finding shortest paths
Between network nodes
Even taking into account
Both common ancestors
And common descendents,
Some connecting paths
Can be missed
These are paths with bends,
Which I named zigzags
There wasn't much more
That I could do at this point
And it was time for lunch,
So I sighed and dined
As I ate I read more of
An AI Magazine article
About the first Turing Contest
In a transcript of
One of the interactions
Between a human and
A computer program,
The person says
"...I imagine whimsical conversation
Is like a series of knight's moves in chess --
Sort of zig-zag rather than
Following any particular line..."
An hour later I'm reading
Greenland's Take Back Plenty
And I come across the line
"...the image of the Frasque
Was being torn and frayed by
Zigzags of interference..."
