When it Rains, it Pours

As I turned onto Old Town Road

Just a short stretch from my street

On my way home for lunch

On this grey and rainy day

A car waiting to turn from Old Town

Repeatedly honked its horn

As I came abreast of it and looked at the driver,

Who had rolled down their window,

I saw that it was my friend Kit

Driving an unfamiliar car

She was looking for a Liberty Street

Where there were some condos

And was basically lost

We chatted until we had to

Either go or be blocking the street ‑‑

We hadn't talked in a month ‑‑

And then said so long

After lunch I headed into Fishkill to the dry cleaners

On my way back to work via Hudson Valley Photo

Where I was going to request some more blow‑ups

When I walked into the dry cleaners

The girl behind the counter said hi

Although she was waiting on a girl

The girl being waited on turned around

And it was Kit!

We both laughed

And chatted some more

As I gave the girl working there my ticket

Kit said that she had finally found the condos

As she was talking I noticed out of the corner of my eye

That the other girl was ready for me to pay her

Kit was saying that the condo was a bit much for one person at "five twenty‑five"

As the other girl said that that would be "five twenty‑five"

Kit and I just looked at each other with raised eyebrows

As if there might be no end to coincidences today

Come to think of it,

A very special someone's birthday is 5/25
