Going through my mail today

I was startled to see

The cover of Science News

It was a still from

A computer-animated short film

That Ronnye and I watched last night

The film was about

Metal insects attacking Earth

And the still showed

One of the huge metal bugs

I put the issue on the counter

So that I would remember

To show it to Ronnye

Next time I saw her

Turning back to my mail,

The next item was

The new issue of Scientific American

It was enclosed in a rough paper

Protective covering

Extolling gift subscriptions

For the holiday season

Turning back the paper cover

To see the actual magazine cover,

I was doubly startled to see

The cover was a picture of

A metallic robot insect -- Yikes!
